VISEC Signs Cooperation Agreement with Nha Trang University – Bridging Education and Practice in Marine Engineering
On September 15, 2026, at Nha Trang University, Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering JSC (VISEC) and the School of Engineering & Technology (Nha Trang University) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening the connection between enterprise and academia in the field of Marine Engineering.
Promoting Research and Workforce Development Cooperation
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Vu – Vice Rector of Nha Trang University, and Mr. Dau Duc Dan – Deputy General Director of VISEC, alongside faculty representatives from the Department of Marine Engineering. This event marks a significant step forward in aligning education and research with industrial practice, aiming to enhance workforce quality and foster the development of Vietnam's shipbuilding industry.
Key Areas of Cooperation
Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on the following activities:
• Scientific research and ship design: Sharing technical expertise, collaborating on research projects, and publishing findings in prestigious scientific journals.
• Training and internships: VISEC will host 5–10 student interns annually, provide financial support to students, and facilitate practical industry exposure for faculty members.
• Scholarships and recruitment: Sponsoring final-semester scholarships and expanding post-graduation employment opportunities for students.
• Practical experience and communications: Organizing site visits and thematic seminars, and partnering with the university on communications and career counseling initiatives.
Commitment to Long-term Cooperation
The MOU is effective for a period of five years from the date of signing. The two parties have agreed to periodically evaluate implementation results and update cooperation activities to align with practical needs and industry development trends.
