On April 24, 2026, at Hai Minh Shipbuilding and Repair Company Limited (X51 Factory), Ba Son Corporation – General Department of Defense Industry solemnly held the keel-laying ceremony for the first Lyra Mekong overnight cruise ship and the commencement of construction for the second ship for Pacific Mekong Cruise Joint Stock Company.

In this project, VISEC continues to assume the role of design unit, working alongside partners to create a line of high-class overnight cruise ships on the Mekong River. VMES – part of the VISEC ecosystem – acts as the general contractor, coordinating closely with X51 Shipyard and related entities to ensure the progress and quality of the project.

Function: High-class overnight cruise ship, modern design according to international standards, fully equipped with facilities: bedrooms, restaurant, observation deck… serving international guests, combining relaxation and experiencing life on the Vietnamese waterways.
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
• The first Lyra Mekong ship, construction started on January 29, 2026, and to date, 21 out of 31 hull blocks have been completed (over 40% of the hull volume).
• All items have been inspected and accepted according to the design documents, ensuring technical and quality requirements, and are ready for keel laying and simultaneous implementation across all sectors.
• Expected handover date: January 31, 2027.
Through the implementation and construction supervision of the first vessel, Pacific Mekong continues to confidently sign a contract to construct the second vessel. This is proof of the strong cooperation and customer trust in the design and construction capabilities of the VISEC ecosystem.
