On August 3, 2024, in Ha Long city (Quang Ninh province), Ha Long Shipbuilding Company Limited successfully launched a 45,000-ton bulk carrier, newly built for the shipowner, Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company. During the construction process, the Truong Minh Dream 05 ship was closely supervised by the investor, Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company and Lloyds Register.
The 45,000 DWT ship named "Truong Minh Dream 05" has a modern design with the most superior features in terms of resistance, exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption efficiency, saving about 30% compared to the current equivalent ship type.
The ship is designed by Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Joint Stock Company (Visec) in cooperation with Bluetech Company (Finland). The ship is modernly designed and has superior resistance, fuel efficiency and emission quality, reducing the weight of the ship to the optimal level.
This product was designed and constructed by Vietnamese engineers, affirming the increasingly improved technical capacity, technology, skills and shipbuilding construction level of the Vietnamese shipbuilding industry.
This is a single-side double-bottom bulk carrier, driven by a diesel engine, single propeller. The ship has a maximum length of 185m; width of 31m; height of 16m and a load capacity of 45,000 DWT. The ship requires very high technical features, operational features, and meets all requirements of the standards for building new steel-hulled ships.
On this occasion, Ha Long Shipbuilding Company held a keel-laying ceremony for the second 45,000 DWT bulk carrier, design code VB45-02 for Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Company.
Earlier in May, the shipowner Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Company also launched a 65,000 DWT cargo ship at Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited. The two 65,000 DWT ships belong to the project of building the largest tonnage ship ever, also designed by Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering JSC. This demonstrates the shipowner's trust in the design level of Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Joint Stock Company (Visec) in cooperation with Bluetech Company (Finland) and the skills of SBIC shipyards to produce the modern products.
